Casinoreports.comUK-based online poker players who still have money owed to them by Full Tilt Poker have been advised by the site's former regulator that they should call the police in order to take the matter further.
Passing the Buck
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission said in a statement to Full Tilt Poker customers this week that as it no longer licenses Full Tilt, it has no authority to intermediate or arbitrate on player issues or disputes with the embattled poker room.
Although it confirmed that it would continue to forward player complaints it receives to the police, it also advised that former Full Tilt customers should approach the police separately if they believe themselves to be a victim of a crime.
Full Tilt has been inaccessible to UK players since June, when the commission suspended all its licenses following the prosecution on Black Friday two months earlier of company officials in the United States.
A Ray of Hope
The AGCC memo did not make any mention of what players can expect to receive from the deal struck between French investor Groupe Bernard Tapie and the US Department of Justice.
The latest news on that front is that the two have agreed to transfer assets. If it goes ahead, GBT will acquire Full Tilt from the Department of Justice for $80 million, US authorities will dismiss civil complaints against the poker site, and players will hopefully be repaid shortly after that.
