Don't play out of your buy-in comfort level, but don't play too cheap, either. If you play with too high of a buy-in, you'll play scared, and not make the necessary blind steals, and you won't be able to cover variance. on the flip side, if you play too smal of by-in, you run the risk of not taking the game seriously, and you won't play to your full potential.
